Are you ready to test your ingenuity, flex your creativity, and represent your club in the first technical showdown of the year?
Curtin Engineers Club (CEC) and Curtin Robotics Club (CRoC) are teaming up for the first time ever to bring you “Ready, Steady, Build!”Â
You and your team will be given a simple mission:
Move as much weight as possible from Platform A to Platform B.
Sounds easy? Not so fast.
You’ll have to build your own weight-hauling machine using a limited set of materials and a programmable circuit board. With only a basic toolkit and your wits, you’ll need to plan, build, test (maybe break), and compete — all under pressure.
The team that hauls the heaviest cumulative weight takes home the trophy, the bragging rights, and everlasting glory (well, at least until next year).
Beginner? Perfect.
Before the challenge, CROC offers a quick and fun crash course during their Build Nights, every Thursday, covering the basics of:
Computer Science (how your PCB works)
Mechanical & Electrical Engineering (how to make it move)
You don’t need to be a pro — just bring your curiosity and team spirit.
We’re also bringing in industry representatives to:
Join the judging panel
Throw in some unpredictable wildcards
Even take on the challenge themselves with their own team!
It’s the perfect opportunity to network in a relaxed setting and build confidence engaging with real professionals.
Date: Tuesday, August 12
Time: 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Location: The Pavilion, Curtin University (Building 215)
Bring your friends. Bring your creativity.
Let the games begin!
